Beautiful runway piece from the autumn-winter 2007 collection. Produced in collaboration with Vanson Leathers, a label popular for their high-quality craftsmanship, especially in leather motorcycle jackets. The jacket is a mainline release, making it extremely hard to find (especially in white) since most of the Junya x Vanson collabs found online are sub-label releases such as Junya Watanabe MAN or MAN eYe.
The jacket is made out of extremely thick cowhide and lined with viscose. It features one small coin pocket and four zipper pockets, three on body plus one on the left arm, vents on armpits to allow the jacket to "breathe", and the classic features of a rider jacket such as asymmetrical front zip, notched lapels with snaps, zippered cuffs and a belted hem. The jacket features an action-back design with gusseted shoulder panels and articulated sleeves, allowing improved stretch an forward reach without stressing the leather.
